Great, absolutely great! Apparently, I have a wonderful virus lurking around on my computer. I got this message from my Norton Anti-virus software saying I had been infected by a virus and there was nothing it could do about it. You see, my anti-virus software expired and I haven’t had the money to renew it yet. I was hoping to renew it with some of the leftover financial aid money that I usually get in August. But I guess I really need to get it now. My friend suggested that I get Avast, since it was free. So I downloaded it and tried to install it, but it told me that it would conflict with the current anti-virus software I have installed right now. :irked:

So now I’m not exactly sure what to do. I don’t have the $60 bucks to renew the anti-virus software, because I just finished paying off three bills. I won’t have any money until Thursday, when I get paid again. What should I do? My computer is infected, so does that mean all my files now have the virus too? I tried sending a file to my friend through email, and apparently it was infected with a virus. :sweatdrop:

Any suggestions?

    Download AVG Free at grisoft.com.

Disable internet for the time being.

    Uninstall Norton.

    Install AVG or Avast. Whichever.

Reconnect to the internet. And update the AVG/Avast.

Run a test. That should clean whatever is wrong.

I hope that helps. If it doesn’t, you’ll need to back up everything of significance and reinstall Windows.

Thanks Amber! I’ll try what you suggested and hopefully that’ll help.
