This is a video of my sister’s daughter (a.k.a. my niece) having fun with the remote control. My mother and I were babysitting her while my brother and his wife went out for dinner and a movie. Although she looks to be quite the cutie patootie, she can be quite the demon child. She had been crying her lungs out before this because she was cranky for a nap. Nothing would appease her until I put her in the car seat and rocked her back and forth. I believe she’s at that age where she recognizes people and obviously she saw my mother and me as strangers. I felt quite proud at having been able to put down my niece when my mother couldn’t.
The real feat of this video is not my niece herself, although she is a cutie! No the real awesomeness behind this video is the fact that it was taken using my iPhone. That’s right, my iPhone recorded this. My husband, being the awesome hacker extraordinaire that he is, was able to add this neat little feature to my phone. It was something I had always wanted, and felt that Apple should have included this along with its many other features. Thanks to my husband, however, now I do have this feature. It’s so awesome! I have to give my husband his props; he really knows his stuff.
By the way, yes, I do realize that my voice sounds funny. I honestly don’t hear myself that way, but I guess that’s just how it is. I’m also speaking Spanish in the video. I’m bilingual and have learned to speak Spanish since I first started speaking. My first word was actually “papa”, which means potato in Spanish. In the Hispanic culture, however, the term “papa” refers to food in general. It could mean mashed carrots, peas, or actual mashed potatoes. We generalize everything in the Hispanic culture. ![]()

Yay for techy husbands or any techy acquaintance, for that matter
Your niece is incredibly adorable! I’ve been watching my boyfriend’s second-cousin the past two weekends. Fun times as well as tiring times. And it also reaffirmed the fact that I don’t want to have kids anytime in the future, although I’m sure that it’ll be different in a few more years. . . five or ten :D
Your husband sounds quite smart lol.
I’m on a slow connection here, so you’ll have to forgive me for not watching the video.
I think it’s very cool that your hubby was able to hack your iphone and add that feature for you. :) For all the hype these phones got, I notice that the best features were the ones not included and the ones people had to find a way to add themselves.
Can’t watch the video since I have limited bandwidth (sigh) so I don’t know whether you really sound funny, but everybody thinks their voice is funny (although apparently not in your case, or something?). When I speak to online friends, though, they all say they love my voice. I guess they expected a squeaky, girly voice. :P
