I did end up taking a few good shots when we went downtown on Saturday. It was really good weather, after all. It was supposed to rain and I was hesitant to even take the camera, but I’m glad I did. Otherwise, I probably would have no pictures from the entire weekend! There were some protesters out that day, protesting Scientology of all things. I thought their signs were pretty amusing, and so I snapped a photo even though I was pretty far. I’m pretty sure the Vendetta dude knew I was taking a photo of him. It looks as though he’s posing in the first photo. The Silver Man from my first trip to Chicago was still performing on Michigan Avenue, only this time he had a few friends with him. They’ve gotten a little adventurous now, and even had an iPod set up with music. He sure didn’t have that last time. They were being assholes about the whole thing, though. They would put up a sign that said to donate for photos right up in your face. They would turn the other way and stop performing if you didn’t. What a bunch of wankers. We spent the whole day downtown that Saturday, and just as I suspected, the Apple store still had a long line to get in. I took some photos of the Apple store, and you can check out those photos (as well as all the photos from the trip) here. I was able to enjoy Giordani’s famous deep dish pizza one last time, as well as a fresh strawberry cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. I’m such a foodie, I swear. In fact, food is what called out to me on Sunday at Six Flags. Rob and I rode just one measly roller coaster before the delicious smells of various kinds of food called out to us. We couldn’t resist the temptation (Rob caved in first, for the record!). It’s quite sad, really, because I was really looking forward to roller coasting the day away, but a girl’s gotta eat! I found out something quite outrageous this past weekend. Illinois does not have Dr. Pepper. Well I’m back home living with my parents. It was such a pain having to move out on my own. I never realized how much stuff I had collected over the span of just a few months! I realized that I would have to sit down and decide what things I really wanted to keep and what things I could do without. Which was a challenge, I assure you, since I am a packrat. But I’m more lazy than anything and I realized that I didn’t want to spend more time packing stuff I knew I wasn’t going to use. My lazy side won in the end. And before you hard-working, money-making, independent people come after me with torches and pitchforks, I only moved back in with my parents for the next four months. My lease with the apartment was over and I didn’t want to renew it, only to break it in September. My husband comes back in September for two weeks from Chicago, and then we move again. The destination is currently unknown, but they’re supposed to give him his orders four weeks in advance. Anyway, the point is that I’m not plotting to mooch off my parents forever. My mother is secretly happy that I’ve moved back in, though; she gets tired of being alone with my dad all the time haha. So the past few days have been spent unpacking some of the boxes here at my mom’s house, moving all the stuff I won’t need to storage, and hounding my dad to call the cable company to set us up with internet. Thankfully all of that has been done and now I can spend my days watching cable and surfing the internet for random things to amuse me. My life is definitely hard, you know. And now, seeing as how I have nothing left to talk about, I leave you with this fantabulous video of my mutant* Chihuahua drying himself off after a bath by rolling around in the grass. What a jerk! * By mutant, I mean insanely huge. He’s actually a Chihuahua mix, which is why he’s so gi-normous! He weighs in at eleven pounds, whereas my other Chihuahua, Gambit, comes in at a meager five pounds! |
