Oh, but my job is so much fun! Granted it’s a bit chaotic in there because the children haven’t had constant teachers in there. I took the place of David, the big meanie according to the children. They also had a different teacher before that, but she just up and left one day. So, they’re testing me out and seeing what they can get away with, but they’re slowly finding out I’m not putting up with any of their antics. I actually have the day off today, but this is due to the fact that I have no ride to work today. Since I have the day to myself, I’m making plans on organizing the classroom and setting up different centers. The afternoon is the most chaotic, so I’m developing some activities to keep the kids occupied. It’s going to be really hard, because these kids haven’t had rules established or anything. They just run amok and think they don’t have to pick up after themselves. Oh, and that’s a big issue I’ve been dealing with as well. I’ve got a plan for that, though and they’ll realize soon enough how important it is to clean up. They’re going to realize soon enough that they can’t mess with me. Okay…maniacal laugh out of my system now! Anyway, so definitely going car hunting this weekend. I’m hoping they still have that cool Mitsubishi Lancer on the lot we saw last weekend. I’m going to have to call up car lots this afternoon to make sure they’re still available. I’d hate to make a trip and find out the car has already been sold. That’s so annoying. Wow, and why am I not surprised? Wordpress has already upgraded to 2.6.3. Ugh, I hate having to update so often. I think I’m probably going to wait until a significant version is released. Such a pain! So I’m pretty happy at the moment! I got the job with Childtime Learning Centers. The first interview didn’t pan out. Something about not scoring high enough on a questionnaire that they like to give. Totally lame, but whatever. The next day I received a phone call from the same company, but a different location, asking me to come in for an interview. So that was yesterday. Today is now Thursday, and I already have a job. Let the celebrating commence!
The position is a lead teacher, working with the kindergarten connection program. Four and five-year-olds, woot! They’re so adorable at that age. I can’t believe that I’m going to be planning lessons, playing with kids all day and getting paid for it. I consider myself to be extremely lucky. I’m not exactly sure on the hours, but I have orientation starting on Monday. I need to get a tuberculosis screening done, so I’ll have to stop by the health department in the morning. Also, there’s the issue about transportation. Now that I actually have a job, I’m going to be needing my own car. What are the chances of being able to find a nice car by Monday, hmmm? I’m sure we’ll figure something out. Obviously the Navy Federal Credit Union will be able to lend us the money easily, but I’m worried whether we’ll be able to find a car. We’ve been looking through several AutoMart booklets and have circled a few possibilities, but who knows. Will lady luck still be on my side? Definitely hoping she will. *crosses fingers* Definitely walking down to the 7-Eleven later to get the newest AutoMart. Just want to make sure the vehicles we were considering are still at the lot. It’ll save us time and gas when it comes time to car hunt. Man I hope we get lucky! Congrats to Mizzy, who also got a job this week too! Looks like we both have orientation this coming Monday. |
