I ordered the shrimp tempura with fried rice. Oh my goodness it was so good! I’ve never had shrimp tempura before, and the tempura dipping sauce they gave me just made it awesome. My friend Eric ordered a whole bunch of different sushi rolls, like the Dragon roll and the Washington Roll. I had a little bit of one of the rolls, Philadelphia, I believe. It had salmon, cream cheese, avocado, and cucumber. It was actually very tasty, and I might just order one of those the next time I go.
Eric also ordered a bottle of chilled sake. I just had to take a photo of it because the bottle looked so pretty! That was about the only thing good about the sake, though. It tasted very bitter; I honestly don’t know how the Japanese drink it! I guess it’s an acquired taste. When the chef finished cooking our meal, he chopped up a bit of cucumber and then flipped it with his spatula to each person in our party so that they would catch it in their mouth. All the guys except one missed the flying cucumber. And only one girl was unable to catch it in her mouth. Any guesses as to who it was? *raises hand* After dinner we went to a bar for drinks, though I didn’t drink much (never was a big drinker). It was a very fun night, filled with laughs. Though it was definitely missing something, and I couldn’t help but feel a little sad. I was missing my better half; it didn’t feel quite as good without him there. It felt a bit weird; these were his friends first, after all. I honestly can’t wait until he comes home. Just two more months to go! P.S. I really wanted to thank you all that responded to this entry. It’s been really tough these past few months, and it’s just a really nice feeling to know that other people care for what you’re going through. Thank you Amber, Clem, Kaylee, and Shen. <3 The ending of ER was pure crap. They chopped off Ray’s legs and he didn’t even end up with Neela! I’m outraged! Anyway, yesterday was lots of fun. I celebrated my birthday yesterday rather than Thursday, because really, what can you do on a Thursday? Nothing, that’s what. Rob and I went to the beach to hang out with Eric and Janie. We went to eat at Dirty Al’s first. They have the best shrimp in the world! The fries and mozzarella sticks were also to die for, and their raspberry tea was amazing! Janie and Eric couldn’t make it to Dirty Al’s, but they met up with us afterwards to go to the beach. And that’s when the fun really started. We bought drinks and snacks and headed out to the beach in Eric’s little Cobalt. Everything was fine until about 45 minutes later, when Rob and I were enjoying ourselves in the water. We realized that Eric and Janie hadn’t moved from the car at all, and they looked rather suspicious. So we got out of the water to see what was going on. Sure enough, we found out that Eric locked the keys in his car! Eric had originally just wanted to smash his little window to get the car open, so we asked the people next to us if they had a crowbar. They did, but they somehow managed to talk Eric out of it. They told us to wait for the police truck that comes by every once in a while. They ended up leaving about five minutes later. So we waited and waited, but the police must have finished his rounds for the day because he never came around again. The only thing we had taken out of the car were the drinks, so we ended up drinking while playing a game of pictionary with the sand. After a few rounds of pictionary (in which Janie and I won), I mentioned that we should probably ask for help soon before all the cars started leaving and we’d be stuck all alone. So Rob and Eric went to walk over to the nearest people to ask for a crowbar again, only they came back with a huge piece of wood they had found along the way. Eric proceeded to hit the small window with it until it finally cracked. I really felt bad for Eric, cause now he has to get that window replaced. I’m pretty sure it’s expensive to fix. After that, though, we were finally able to enjoy ourselves a little more. We left the beach around eight-thirty because it was starting to get pretty chilly out there. It was so funny though because we ended up getting stuck in the sand not once, but twice! The first time we got stuck because of some trucks that were blocking the path. So everyone got off to push except for Janie and me. We just sat there because we were pretty tipsy from earlier. We ended up getting off though, because the car wasn’t going even though some people were helping to push. Janie and I went to help and finally the car was freed from the sand. Janie ended up falling down twice, it was so hilarious. I was pretty proud that I pushed while not losing the bag of cheetos in my hand! The second time we got stuck though, there were no cars nearby. So it was just me, Janie, and Eric pushing the little cobalt out of the sand. It probably wasn’t as bad as the first time we had gotten stuck, because we were able to get it out pretty quick. I’d like to think it was because of my muscle power. The fun didn’t stop there, oh no. Rob was driving home because I was too tired to drive. He let me sleep on the way home, only he had to wake me up because we had been pulled over. Apparently Rob had been swerving a little bit. After asking to see his license and my insurance (we were in my car), he asked Rob to get out of the car. The officer was talking to him for a little bit, then came over to ask me if he had been drinking. I wasn’t about to blatantly lie to the officer, so I told him he had a little bit of wine at dinner. I knew he didn’t really have a lot to drink, but I was hoping that it had already gone through his system. I don’t know what I would have done if they hauled him off to jail or something. The officer gave him a breathalizer test, but thankfully nothing came up. Rob just told the officer that he was a little tired, but he should be okay going home. It was a pretty good wake up call though, cause even I couldn’t go back to sleep after that! I’m starting my diet today. Seriously this time. This muffin top has got to go. I’m going to try and hit the gym at least five days out of the week, and I’m going to start eating right again. Which means no more burgers, pizzas, fried foods, or sweets. |

I went out to dinner on Tuesday with some friends to celebrate Janie and Jessica’s 22nd birthday. We went to this Japanese restaurant, the kind where the chef cooks your order in front of you. It was a new experience for me, and it was awesome. It was really cool the way the chef cooked the food and even made a show out of the whole thing. It was a pretty pricey place, but I wouldn’t mind going there again.
