Well, I had lots of fun yesterday despite the cold weather. The weekend was really nice, but a cool front came in late in the afternoon yesterday. Of course, that didn’t spoil our egg-hunting fun! We must have hidden almost 200 confetti-filled eggs all over my brother’s ranch house. We gave the young kids a head start before we adults went and joined in on the fun.
There were so many eggs that most of them wound up just thrown on the open fields haha. It was fun, though. I always do enjoy cracking about five eggs on my brother’s head. Sucks when both of your older brothers attack you at once though! I’ll get them next year, that’s for sure. I’m planning on filling my own eggs with flour hehe.
The kids had lots of fun, though. It just isn’t fair that they’re so short. They could never reach us adults! My little niece, the one wearing a pink jacket and confetti in her hair, ended up cracking one on my behind. :rotfl:

After the egg hunt, we all got together and played a game of baseball. Now, I’ve never been the athletic type. I’ve always been the trip-on-my-own-feet kinda girl. I played basketball during my freshman year, and I vividly remember this one time I was running down the court and I just tripped and fell. No one was near me and it’s not like my shoe laces were untied. I just tripped on my own feet! It was the most embarrassing thing ever, and needless to say, I didn’t bother signing up for basketball the following year. Or any year after that!
So this is why I usually avoid sports at all costs, but I was in a very good mood that day. So I ended up playing (and getting picked last, of course). Much to my surprise (and everyone else’s as well), I wasn’t bad at all!
I ended up scoring three runs for my team! I figured that ought to show my brother, who called me the team handicap!
I still couldn’t believe he didn’t pick me to be on his own team! But who can blame him. Everyone knows I suck at sports. I was doing pretty awesome, though. I even slid into third base so that I wouldn’t get taken out.
I didn’t do it very well, though, because I ended up scraping my knee! It was all good, though. We also didn’t have enough mitts for everyone, so I was one of the lucky ones to play without a glove. And lucky for me, my little nephew always seemed to hit the ball in my direction.
I tried catching the first one, but damn it hurt so bad that I ended up dropping it. My right palm and left thumb are now bruised. I like to think of them as battle scars! A reminder of the time I scored three runs and my team decimated my brother’s team, muahaha!
After my brother’s team forfeited, we all went inside to play LoterĂa, which is kind of like Bingo. We played for money, but it was only a dime per card. I had two so I had to pay twenty cents a game. There were so many people playing, the winner got like three bucks a game. I won like three times, so I ended up breaking even. My mom practically lost all her change, though. My older brother couldn’t really keep up with playing two cards at once and someone else would win by the time he realized that he had won (like five cards back!). Eventually he went back to playing his single card haha.
So my Easter was pretty good. Lots of good food, good company, and lots of laughter. The only thing that would have truly made it perfect, would have been having my husband there with me.
I miss him like crazy, but it really helped talking to him for like an hour on Saturday. His graduation date is getting closer, and I’m so excited! I can’t wait to see him again. ![]()

Your Easter sounded like loads of fun. We don’t really celebrate Easter. =(
Your niece is adorable!
I’m not a sports girl either, in PE, I’d be the one just running back and forth, hoping that nobody would pass to me.
Ouch. Those bruises look pretty bad. But at least you did well in the game!
I kinda suck at sports, too, because I don’t play too often. I don’t like getting all sweaty in this hot and humid weather.
Wahh your Easter sounds truly cool - especially the Egg Hunt :D Hehe, in High School I was pretty good at Soft Ball *tee-hee* Come to think of it, I kinda miss it now XD Hope your thumb gets better soon!
Don’t feel bad about not being good at sports, it is an affliction that pains many of us. It seems you had a nice Easter, though!
Ouch. Your thumb looks painful. I burned myself like three times on Sunday. :P On a hot pan, a curling iron, and the rice cooker. I am a klutz and I avoid sports too! I’ve played Loteria before in high school when I was in Spanish class. :)
I don’t like sports because I can’t run lol.
