I don’t have much to blog about this time. Haven’t done anything exciting except battle bathe my dogs. :sarcastic: I have been on Plurk more often now, and I’ve made some great friends on there. It’s much better than Twitter, in my opinion. Really, you should all sign up and join the fun! Late nights get pretty addicting…I thank Plurk for my messed up sleeping habits!

Plurk aside, I just wanted to share a few of the songs that I’m currently in love with. I noticed several people on Plurk sharing their own, so I thought I might list my favorite five at the moment. Heck, I’ll even let you download them so that you can love them, too.

  • The Cranberries - Zombie: I cannot tell you how much in love I am with this song at the moment. I just love her voice (Dolores), and the words are just very powerful. It’s about war, it’s about fighting, it’s about the devastation it leaves behind. The Cranberries are just an awesome band.
  • Nirvana - The Man Who Sold The World: I can hear this song over and over again. Nirvana has always been one of my favorite bands. Kurt Cobain has such a unique voice, and their music has just always fantastic. This song in particular, though…there’s something about it that makes me want to listen over and over again.
  • Ok Go - Here It Goes Again: I know most of you hear this song before, and I’m sure you’ve seen the video for it as well. I just never truly appreciated this song until I played it on Rock Band. It just stuck in my head, and I had to download it.
  • Coldplay - Viva la Vida: Coldplay has always been one of my favorite bands since Parachutes was released. Chris Martin has such an amazing voice, and I’ve just always loved that band. This album is different from their three previous albums, but it’s definitely a fantastic new direction the band has taken. I’m proud to say that the Hispanic culture helped shaped this new album.
  • R.E.M. - Orange Crush I’ve always liked R.E.M.’s music, but this has to be my favorite song. I just love the beat, and I love blasting it out of my husband’s truck so everyone can hear it. It’s a good song, so download this one!

So those are my favorite songs at the moment. I want everyone to download them and love them along with me! But I’m always looking for new bands/artists to check out, so please feel free to share some of your favorite bands or songs that you love. Expanding my music collection is what I live for.

P.S. To download the music, you need to enter the three letters you see and then hit “Download”.

I went out to dinner on Tuesday with some friends to celebrate Janie and Jessica’s 22nd birthday. We went to this Japanese restaurant, the kind where the chef cooks your order in front of you. It was a new experience for me, and it was awesome. It was really cool the way the chef cooked the food and even made a show out of the whole thing. It was a pretty pricey place, but I wouldn’t mind going there again.

I ordered the shrimp tempura with fried rice. Oh my goodness it was so good! I’ve never had shrimp tempura before, and the tempura dipping sauce they gave me just made it awesome. My friend Eric ordered a whole bunch of different sushi rolls, like the Dragon roll and the Washington Roll. I had a little bit of one of the rolls, Philadelphia, I believe. It had salmon, cream cheese, avocado, and cucumber. It was actually very tasty, and I might just order one of those the next time I go.

Eric also ordered a bottle of chilled sake. I just had to take a photo of it because the bottle looked so pretty! That was about the only thing good about the sake, though. It tasted very bitter; I honestly don’t know how the Japanese drink it! I guess it’s an acquired taste.

When the chef finished cooking our meal, he chopped up a bit of cucumber and then flipped it with his spatula to each person in our party so that they would catch it in their mouth. All the guys except one missed the flying cucumber. And only one girl was unable to catch it in her mouth. Any guesses as to who it was? *raises hand* :sarcastic:

After dinner we went to a bar for drinks, though I didn’t drink much (never was a big drinker). It was a very fun night, filled with laughs. Though it was definitely missing something, and I couldn’t help but feel a little sad. I was missing my better half; it didn’t feel quite as good without him there. It felt a bit weird; these were his friends first, after all. I honestly can’t wait until he comes home. Just two more months to go! :whew:

P.S. I really wanted to thank you all that responded to this entry. It’s been really tough these past few months, and it’s just a really nice feeling to know that other people care for what you’re going through. Thank you Amber, Clem, Kaylee, and Shen. <3
