Aunt Flo is late. By three days. Now I know that’s not much cause for concern, but it’s a big deal to me. My body is a ticking clock, always on time. I always know the exact date Aunt Flo comes, without fail. So when April 11th comes and goes with no visit, I start to get paranoid.

The home pregnancy test I took came back negative. I was relieved, but was still unsure. Lots of internet research led me to believe that it’s still possible to be pregnant. So I went to Planned Parenthood just to be sure. That test came back negative.

Honestly, I’m not sure whether to be relieved or disappointed. Rob and I have talked about kids and we both decided to enjoy our marriage without kids for a while. I know it’s silly to be sad over something that was never there, but for a while…I just thought being a mother would be nice.

Anyway, I’m not pregnant as far as I know. Don’t know why Aunt Flo is late, but I guess I’ll just enjoy the days without her. She’s a pain in the ass anyway. :sarcastic:

My trip to Chicago went well. I was a little scared of boarding that plane all alone, especially since I had a layover in Houston on the way to Chicago. I was afraid that I would miss my second flight or something. But everything went well, except for some serious turbulence on the way. Anyway, here are some things I just wanted to share about flying.

  • Turbulence sucks ass.
  • The peanuts are not as good as their reputation holds.
  • The whole ear-popping thing…very annoying.
  • Being stuck in the middle seat, with a full bladder, is the worst.

So in conclusion, I honestly don’t think I was missing out on something big all those years without flying. My weekend in Chicago was great, though. Spending time with my husband was the absolute best, and I found myself wishing the weekend would never end. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, and now I find myself back at home, moping again.

He gets his orders for A School tomorrow, and I’m hoping to hear from him soon. I have to send him all his stuff, especially his cell phone. Hearing his voice every day would definitely help. In the meantime, I’m already planning a second trip for my birthday next month. Just the two of us, though. His family is great, but I definitely would love some “alone” time (wink wink). And while I would love to write about all the things we did this weekend, I think I’ll just summarize them and post a few pictures.

The graduation ceremony was absolutely amazing. Rob was one of the guys holding a flag (the white one). He looked so scrumptious in his uniform! I also took pictures of the band and the guys holding the guns.

On Friday we went to Gurnee mall. We didn’t really buy anything there except for food at the food court. We had eaten at this horrible Chinese place earlier and I was still hungry! We took a picture by the frog in front of the Rainforest Cafe, and I took a picture of a big tortoise. It was real!

Saturday was spent at Navy Pier and also downtown Chicago. The most interesting thing at Navy Pier was the huge ferris wheel. We totally forgot about getting on it because we started getting hungry (again with the food!). So we went downtown to eat at Chili’s (Rob wanted a huge steak) and we did a little shopping while we were there. We went into the Apple store, of course, and we saw a very cool street performer. I also couldn’t resist myself and did a major splurge. I bought myself a Chanel bag. I’d been wanting one for ages, and finally I get my greedy little hands on one. I absolutely adore it. :shy:
