From Confessions of a Slacker Mom:
I don’t have an extremely scientific mind, but from what I understand, if one’s immune system is not exposed to germs from the time one is a baby, it doesn’t properly develop. We are designed not only to be exposed to germs but to actually contract illnesses from them. It’s one of the most important ways we manufacture antibodies so we can fight off more serious diseases later on. I’m not trying to sound like an authority myself, I’m actually quoting our pediatrician.

I have now discovered the reason why I have no immune system. The reason why I always catch colds better than I do a softball. I blame this on my mother, you know. Thanks to her overprotectiveness, my immune system was never able to develop properly. All it takes is for someone sick to stand near me, and I catch whatever they have. Thanks a lot, mom. :sarcastic:

Mom, I know you were scared when I contracted bronchitis as a newborn, but come on! Now I have to take daily vitamins to boost my nonexistent immune system. All because you refused to let me play around in some dirt or be passed around by people who didn’t wash their hands or use sanitizer before touching me.

By the way, those daily vitamins don’t even work. But I guess you were able to figure that one out on your own when I came down with not only the flu, but pneumonia as well!

I have no immune system. I have no antibodies. I’m also going to be an elementary teacher. I sure screwed myself over when I chose my career, didn’t I?

So I’ve been spending most of my Spring Break in front of the television, watching reruns after reruns of my favorite shows. What entertains me most sometimes are the commercials. My favorite one has to be SoBe’s Thrillicious commercial. I’ve always loved the dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, so I really love seeing the little lizards strut their stuff. Especially the fat one that can’t resist eating the bug in the middle of the dance lol. It doesn’t really make me want to go out and buy the product itself, but it definitely does entertain me.

Other than that, my Spring Break isn’t exciting at all. I’m not even sure if I’ll be going to the beach or not. It really depends on whether I can find someone to go with. Which doesn’t seem very likely. :sarcastic: I envy those of you who were able to relax on the beach with your toes in the sand and the sun warming your skin.

Damn you. :irked:
