It’s been such a hectic week for me! I’ve been so busy working and meeting with my group for the big presentation. I’ve hardly had a chance to be online unless it was for research. This week was my first week working at the new store, and I was really nervous on the first day. I had no reason to be though! The people I work with are so nice and cheerful. This store is so different from my previous one, and I absolutely love it. I am so glad that I requested a transfer. Gambit barked for the first time today. Those are like, his very first words! He was trying to bark at the neighbor’s dog, who was making a fuss. It was like Gambit was trying to say, “Shut the hell up. Can’t you see I’m trying to be cute here?!” They really love the outdoors, though. So much so, that they even bring it inside. See for yourself: ![]() ![]() They bring in dirt, rocks, and even sticks inside. I guess they wanted to decorate their sleeping quarters to make it seem more outdoor-sy? And the sock belongs to my nephew, who left his socks in the laundry room floor. We have to be really careful with the laundry and make sure nothing lands on the floor. I’ve had two socks fall victim to their gnawing habits already. It’s been two weeks since my accident, and nothing has been done to fix my car. The guy’s insurance is sure taking their sweet ass time. Meanwhile, I’m forced to drive my dad’s monster truck because I refuse to drive my car in it’s current condition, even though my dad tried to fix it. He ripped the fender off completely so that the door can open freely. He also tried to fix the door panel’s dents (where it met with the fender). My hood and front tires have to be realigned, though. My rims have been scratched up so that will have to be sent out to be fixed. The rubber from the tires has also been ripped in some places. I’ll need to get a new tire for that or risk getting a blow-out while driving. Altogether I’m looking at $4000 in damages. At least that’s what they told me. :ashamed: At the rate the guy’s insurance is going though, it doesn’t seem like it will get fixed any time soon. My aunt and uncle are came down from Houston last night! I haven’t seen them since last August, when I visited them during my break from school. This is the first time seeing my uncle since he received his liver transplant. I have to say that he looks much healthier and a lot happier. It was very heartbreaking to see him so sickly and gaunt. It was truly a miracle to find a donor that matched. His time was coming to an end, and we were all very relieved to hear the good news. I was reading the newspaper today and there was an article about a lady naming the top ten inventions that she disliked. I found it rather interesting, and I started thinking of the inventions that I hated. Like the automated toilet, for example. Are we that lazy that we don’t even want to flush the toilets ourselves anymore? I hate those damn things because if you move the wrong way, it will suddenly flush on it’s own when you’re not even done. You just end up getting your ass splashed and that is not cool at all. Plus, it makes other people in the restroom think that you have diarrhea and that’s why you’re flushing so many times. The lady that wrote the article also made a very good point about cell phones.
This is very true. There have been times when I am very grateful for having a cell phone on me, but more often than not I find myself wishing I didn’t have one. It just really cuts into your personal time and it’s so annoying when I’m in the middle of doing something and I have to stop and answer my sister, who is calling for no apparent reason. So, what inventions drive you nuts? |
